A target price is useful only when a factory knows what the bag must still achieve at that price. Removing insulation, changing a closure or simplifying a logo can affect a different part of the product. For a custom cooler bag RFQ, separate essential requirements from negotiable choices before asking Weierken to propose a lower-cost version.
Define the commercial boundary first
State whether your target is an ex-factory product price, an export quotation or a landed budget. List the required packaging, order quantity, color split and any testing separately. Otherwise two quotations can appear comparable while covering different work. An annual forecast is also not the same as the quantity released in the first purchase order.
Prepare one approved baseline specification. Identify capacity, the actual containers, carrying method and necessary cleaning access. A request to reduce price without that baseline can lead to a cheaper bag that no longer solves the intended problem.
Choose changes by their effect on the user
Start with options that do not remove the reason for buying the bag: unnecessary decorative panels, duplicate pockets, an elaborate logo process or retail packaging that the channel does not need. Ask the factory to explain each proposed change, rather than accepting a general promise of equivalent quality.
Changes to insulation, load-bearing attachments or the main closure require a new functional review. Do not treat a similar-looking material as an automatic replacement. Keep the original and proposed versions visible in the same comparison sheet.
Use a decision example, not an unverified savings claim
Illustrative example: a brand requests two external pockets, a molded badge and an individual display box. Its distributor actually ships bags in bulk and uses only one pocket. Compare a simplified version against the original, keeping the required container fit and carrying arrangement unchanged. The saving cannot be stated until materials, quantities and assembly have been quoted.
If two colors can share a base fabric or standard hardware, ask whether the sourcing plan becomes simpler. This is a review question, not a promise that every color combination qualifies for a lower MOQ.
Approve the revised sample before releasing the saving
Put every accepted change into the drawing, component list and quotation revision. Photograph the revised sample and review any affected fit, closure or cleaning requirement. A price reduction is not fully defined if the factory and buyer are still referring to different versions.
Keep the original baseline as well. It provides a reference if a later reorder returns to the original configuration or a distributor asks why the approved product differs from the first sales sample.

| Decision | Buyer supplies | Approval record |
|---|---|---|
| Price basis | Quantity, currency, trade terms and packaging | One consistent quotation scope |
| Non-negotiable function | Load, access and carrying requirements | Functions retained in the revision |
| Cost option | Specific component or process change | Revised quote and sample reference |
Buyer FAQs
Can Weierken guarantee a target price from a reference photo?
No reliable quotation can be based on appearance alone. Send dimensions, quantity, construction priorities and packaging so the team can review a defined scope.
Should a lower-cost version keep the same sample approval?
Only if the agreed scope permits it. Record which components changed and review the affected functions before bulk release.

Prepare your Weierken project brief
Send the target price basis, first-order quantity, forecast, reference images and a short must-have versus optional list. Weierken can use that brief to review alternatives without silently removing an essential feature.
Related guidance: quotation comparison, model and color quantities. Send your project details to Weierken.
