Replacement accessories are easier to plan before the first order than after a customer loses a strap. If your bag program needs spare parts, include that requirement in the Weierken purchasing brief. Compatibility, packing and supply terms must be defined for the actual approved design.
Give each replaceable component a controlled reference
Separate user-removable accessories from components that form part of the permanent bag construction. A detachable shoulder strap can be reviewed as a separate item; a sewn-in anchor may require a different repair process. Do not offer user replacement simply because a component is visible.
Record the interface as well as the part itself. Buckle geometry, webbing width, attachment position and adjustment range can affect compatibility. A part that looks similar in a photograph is not necessarily interchangeable with the approved assembly.
A worked brief you can adapt
| Decision | Example brief | Evidence to request |
|---|---|---|
| Shoulder strap | Accessory S01 for bag revision R03 | Attachment and adjustment fit review |
| Divider | Insert D02 for specified size | Shape and orientation reference |
| Replacement pack | One strap with instruction card | Separate selling-unit checklist |
| Future revision | New buckle proposed | Compatibility review before substitution |
Turn the review into an actionable request
For a fictional program with two bag sizes, check the spare strap against both approved configurations before giving it a shared part number. If one requires different attachments, keep separate references even if the visible strap fabric is the same.
Ask Weierken about availability, minimum quantities and commercial terms for the requested accessories; do not infer a perpetual spare-parts service from the main bag order. Retain one accepted reference and a photo of the correct connection so support staff can identify the right part later.
For the connected specification, use our carrying system specification. Send the completed brief through the Weierken project inquiry form, including your company, work email, phone, product and quantity. Ask for any unresolved item to be listed separately in the reply; a proposal is not an approved production instruction.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can spare parts be ordered under the original bag SKU?
Use distinct accessory references and compatibility notes so the packing team and customer know exactly what is included. Agree the ordering structure with the supplier.
Does a replacement part carry the same approval as the whole bag?
Not automatically. Check the part revision and assembled configuration, and define any verification needed after replacement. Do not transfer a claim without supporting evidence.
