How to Compare Custom Bag Quotations on the Same Specification

How to Compare Custom Bag Quotations on the Same Specification

Two custom bag quotations can describe the same photograph and still price different products. Before choosing the lower total, put the material, construction, accessories and packing on one comparison sheet. When requesting a Weierken quotation, share that common brief rather than asking each supplier to interpret a reference independently.

Separate the product price from what the quotation includes

Start with one drawing revision, one order breakdown and one delivery basis. A removable strap, a branded badge or individual packaging should not disappear into a general description such as “standard accessories”. Mark each item as included, optional or excluded. An unpriced item is an open question, not a free inclusion.

Then compare development and verification separately from repeat production. Ask whether sample work, artwork preparation and any agreed testing appear in the offer, and whether those amounts depend on later approval. Keep currency, quotation validity and shipping assumptions visible. None of these should be inferred from the unit price.

A worked brief you can adapt

Illustrative purchasing worksheet — not a completed customer order or a performance promise
Decision Example brief Evidence to request
Construction One approved drawing; identical lining and closure Materials list and stated exceptions
Selling unit Bag, detachable strap and care insert Itemized inclusion list
Development One specified sample scope Separate sample quotation and revision terms
Dispatch Same destination and delivery basis Packing estimate and logistics exclusions

Turn the review into an actionable request

If quotation A includes a strap and quotation B does not, first ask B to price the same selling unit. Do not treat the difference as a saving until the scopes match. Likewise, a lower-priced material alternative needs its own description and sample review; it is not automatically interchangeable.

Weierken offers OEM and ODM development, so the quotation conversation can address construction choices as well as price. Ask which change would simplify your particular specification and what it would remove from the product. Keep the accepted option in the next revision of the brief rather than relying on a verbal price discussion.

For the connected specification, use our MOQ and color allocation example. Send the completed brief through the Weierken project inquiry form, including your company, work email, phone, product and quantity. Ask for any unresolved item to be listed separately in the reply; a proposal is not an approved production instruction.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I select the cheapest unit price?

Only after comparing the same product and commercial scope. Keep exclusions and unapproved substitutions visible; price alone cannot establish whether two offers cover the same deliverable.

Can I use this sheet before the final artwork is ready?

Yes. Label the artwork as provisional and ask which parts of the quote remain conditional. Obtain an updated quotation when the final application and placement are agreed.
